The Mercedes-Benz Cars segment offers Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, Maybach high-end luxury sedans, and smart micro compact passenger cars. The Daimler Trucks segment provides trucks and specialty vehicles under the Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, and Fuso brand names. The Mercedes-Benz Vans segment offers vans under the Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner brand names. The Daimler Buses segment provides city buses, coaches, intercity buses, midi buses, and bus chassis under the Mercedes-Benz, Setra, and Orion brand names. The Daimler Financial Services segment primarily involves in financing and leasing services supporting its Mercedes-Benz and other vehicle businesses. This segment also offers insurance brokerage and fleet management services, including dealer property and casualty insurance. In addition, this segment operates the Mercedes-Benz Bank that provides various services, including leasing and sales financing services, car savings plans, credit cards, and demand deposit accounts. The company distributes its products through affiliated or independent general distributors, wholly owned subsidiaries, its own retail outlets, and a network of independent dealers. It has a joint development agreement with Toray Industries Inc. to develop components made from carbon-fiber reinforced plastics for series production vehicles.
