Barclays Bank plc, iPath ETNs (Exchange Traded Notes), due 6/12/2036, linked to Dow Jones - AIG Commodity Index Total Return and issued in $50 denominations. The Dow Jones - AIG Commodity Index Total Return is designed to be a diversified benchmark for commodities as an asset class, and reflects the returns that are potentially available through an unleveraged investment in the futures contracts on physical commodities comprising the Index plus the rate of interest that could be earned on cash collateral invested in specified Treasury Bills. The Index is currently composed of nineteen futures contracts on physical commodities traded on U.S. exchanges, with the exception of aluminum, nickel and zinc contracts, which trade on the London Metal Exchange. The ETNs pay no interest during the term of the note and do not guarantee any return of principal at maturity. The ETNs are redeemable at the option of the holder but only in groups of 50,000 securities at a time. At maturity, the ETNs will pay a cash payment equal to the principal amount times the index factor on the final valuation date minus the investor fee on the final valuation date. The index value will be the closing value of the index on that day divided by the initial index value. The initial value of the Index is the closing value of the index on the inception date of 6/6/2006. The investor fee is equal of 0.75% per year times the principal amount of the securities times the index value. The ETNs are senior unsecured debt securities of Barclays Bank plc and rank equally with their other unsecured and unsubordinated obligations.
