The ProShares Short QQQ is an exchange-traded index fund that is a separate investment portfolio of the ProShares Trust, an exchange-traded fund organized as a Delaware business trust that consists of separate investment portfolios (each, an index Fund). INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The ProShares Short QQQ portfolio seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to the inverse (opposite) of the daily performance of the NASDAQ-100 Index. If ProShares Short QQQ is successful in meeting its objective, its net asset value should gain approximately the same amount, on a percentage basis, as any decrease in the NASDAQ-100 Index when the Index declines on a given day. Conversely, its net asset value should lose approximately the same amount, on a percentage basis, as the Index when the Index rises on a given day. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The NASDAQ-100 Index includes 100 of the largest non-financial domestic and international issues listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market. To be eligible for inclusion companies cannot be in bankruptcy proceedings and must meet certain additional criteria including minimum trading volume and seasoning requirements. The Index is calculated under a modified capitalization-weighted methodology. Reconstitution and rebalancing occurs on an annual, quarterly, and ongoing basis.
